Mocho Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-09 · Andrii Byzov, independent developer (Ukraine)

TL;DR: Mocho stores everything on your device. We do not collect any data from you and do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting. Apple Health data stays on your device. One opt-in feature (Weekly AI Insight, Pro only) sends an aggregated summary of your week — no raw entries, no identifying info — to our backend so Anthropic Claude can produce a one-sentence observation. You initiate this manually each time.

What Mocho is

Mocho is a 30-second daily check-in app for adults who think their brain runs differently. Mocho is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, screen for, or treat ADHD or any other condition. If you suspect you have ADHD, please consult a qualified clinician.

What we collect

Nothing automatic. Mocho does not collect any data from your device automatically. There is no Mocho account, no login, no email, and no name.

Everything you log in Mocho — your mood, focus level, medication status, sleep hours, and ADHD tags — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. None of it is sent to us or to any third party automatically.

What we do NOT collect

AI Weekly Insight (Pro feature, opt-in per use)

If you are a Pro subscriber and tap "Generate weekly insight" in the Insights tab, Mocho:

  1. Computes a small aggregate summary of your last 7 days on your device: averages (e.g. average mood +0.3, average focus 3.4), counts (e.g. 4 check-ins), and correlations (e.g. focus AM=4.2 vs PM=2.5). The aggregate is plain text, ~10 lines max.
  2. Sends only that aggregate text — never raw entries, never identifying information — to our backend at enbmobvxgsnfhdibhvgd.supabase.co (Supabase Edge Function). Authentication uses your Apple StoreKit receipt to verify Pro entitlement; no account or login is created.
  3. Our backend forwards the aggregate text to Anthropic Claude (the LLM provider) which generates one short observation sentence.
  4. The observation comes back, is shown in the app, and is cached locally on your device for 7 days. We do not store or retain anything on our backend.

What Anthropic sees: only the aggregate text and the system prompt. They do not receive your name, device ID, Apple ID, or any individual entries. Anthropic's data-use policy applies (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy).

What gets stored on our servers: nothing. Our Edge Function processes the request and returns the response — the request body is not logged or persisted.

How to disable: simply do not tap "Generate weekly insight". Free users cannot trigger this feature at all (it is server-gated by Pro entitlement). You can also cancel your Pro subscription in iOS Settings.

This feature is informational only. The AI's observation is not a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or medical advice.

Apple Health

If you grant Apple Health permission during onboarding, Mocho:

All HealthKit reads and writes happen on your device. The data never leaves your iPhone via HealthKit, and is never shared with us or with any third party. (Apple Health data is also never sent to Anthropic in the AI Weekly Insight flow described above — only mood / focus / tag aggregates from Mocho's own SwiftData store.)

You can revoke HealthKit permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Mocho.

Subscriptions

Mocho offers two auto-renewable subscriptions via Apple's StoreKit: Mocho Pro Monthly and Mocho Pro Yearly. Apple processes the payment; Mocho never sees your payment information, billing address, or Apple ID. Subscription entitlement is verified locally on your device and (for the AI Weekly Insight feature) on our backend using Apple-provided StoreKit JWS receipts.

You can cancel any time in iOS Settings → Subscriptions.

Your rights

Because Mocho does not store any data on our servers (the AI Weekly Insight feature processes requests transiently without persistence), there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf — your device is the single source of truth.

Children

Mocho is rated 17+ and not intended for children under 13.

Changes

If we materially change this policy — for example, if a future version of Mocho introduces additional cloud features that collect or store data — we'll surface a clear notice in the app, update the date above, and require fresh user consent before any data leaves your device.
